Jason Trotter (b. 1972, Centralia, Illinois) is an American artist known for bold geometric abstract painting. A graduate of Northern Illinois University, Trotter is a self-taught painter whose practice is informed by the legacy of Josef Albers, Carmen Herrera, and Ellsworth Kelly, bringing a contemporary clarity to the traditions of hard-edged abstraction.
His work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across the United States and Europe, with a recent solo exhibition in New York at Voltz Clarke Gallery, where he is represented. Trotter’s practice has been featured in publications including Forbes, The Hollywood Reporter, and Manhattan Magazine. He lives and works in Los Angeles, continuing to refine a visual language rooted in the disciplined exploration of color, form, and spatial tension.
